Conceptual Photography: First Attempt

Have you heard of Brooke Shaden?

Well she's amazing.

I've been reading a lot of her blog posts, and anything on youtube I can find.

She has really inspired me lately.

When I first started photography I was very much a traditionalist.
And really up until a friend introduced me to Brooke's work I really thought photoshop was just a way to make good photographs cheesy, and bad photographs worse.

I didn't see it's potential to actually be a medium.

So

I decided I was going to give it a shot and create a conceptual piece using photoshop techniques I've learned over the last little while.

I decided to do the piece as a self portrait because I have had the idea in my mind for about a week now, and couldn't wait to get it photographed!

so without further ado...

Ta da!

I know it's far from anything professional conceptualists are able to create, but for my first try I gotta say I'm fairly impressed with myself

I can't wait to do more!
