The Journey To Hope

Recently I have been working on a massive project.
When I was racking my brain trying to come up with an idea to run with my wonderful husband said I should base it off of depression.

(Not the most uplifting topic I know, but it is so full of raw emotion I knew it would work)

I decided, however, to show the various stages of depression leading to hope in my images.

Having gone through some really rough times myself I was able to draw from past experience and make the project very personal.

Almost everything in each image is symbolic of something, and I've been debating on whether or not I want to share what each thing symbolizes or let the audience decide for themselves.

I decided to take 4 different people (models) and show 4 different stages of this journey in different ways.

I decided to first show saddness.
The initial saddness of the event.
The breakdown.

Then comes anger.
 The 'why me' feeling.

Next is exhaustion.
The sheer tiredness of being so sad and broken all the time.

And last the glimmer of hope.
The knowledge that better days will come.
The silver lining.

Each photograph was meticulously thought out and prepared for in advance, and I must say I am rather proud of myself.
I poured my whole heart in soul into this and I hope you can gain something from it like I did.
